Beloved Meher Baba’s brother Behram’s wife and Rustom and Sorab Irani (Baba’s twin nephews) mother Perin Passed away at Pune on 9th July, 2009 at 1:45 am.

Sheela’s father Bhau Kalchuri joined Meher Baba as one of the mandali in 1953. Four years later, Baba called Sheela and her family to live in his near proximity. The Kalchuris had many opportunities to be in the Beloved’s presence, and Sheela’s first-person account paints a vivid, intimate portrait of life near Meher Baba, from the perspective of a child and teenager.

Avatar Meher Baba’s dearest Katie Irani flew into her Beloved’s arms on 29/05/09 at 0410. She passed away from heart failure in Meherazad; she was 89 years old. The cremation was held at 1730 on 29/05/09 at Meherabad. Katie’s ashes are interred by the east side of His Samadhi on Meherabad Hill.

Young adults from all over the world between the ages of 19 and 35 gather at Meherabad to spend six days together in the company of the Ancient One. The keynote of the “sahavas” is the celebration of Meher Baba’s love through sharing, creative expression (such as art, music and drama), and service at Meherabad.
